About
Flood House is a creative screen-printing studio. Our focus lies in creative collaboration: working with visual artists, illustrators and designers to create limited edition art prints. Our vision is to promote creative collaboration within the arts by supporting artists and sharing our passion for traditional printmaking.
We produce fine art silkscreen prints for clients, both locally and internationally. Check out our projects here to see Flood House’s production work.

Flood House also co-publishes prints. We join hands with artists to produce limited edition silkscreen prints. View a list of our published works in our shop.

Our studio
Our studio houses two flatbed printing presses which can accommodate work up to A0 (33.1 inches x 46.8 inches).

Pre-press work is done in-house in our dark room, where we develop the screens for printing. This entails making use of our on-site ULED exposure unit.

Flood House specialises in custom projects, the studio can accommodate printing on different materials, as long as the surface of the material is flat i.e. wood, vinyl, glass, etc.
The method
At Flood House, we work with both water and solvent based inks, depending on the artist’s needs. Understanding our clients is prioritised in the collaborative experience, as many artists are engaging with the technique for the first time. A large part of pre-press work revolves around the artist’s style and practice or process. Through pre-press work, we can establish how best to assist our clients by developing an approach that facilitates the creation of high quality, original work.

We have access to a wide range of archival papers so our clients are free to choose the right stock of paper for the right print. We also offer specialty products such as luminescent inks or high-gloss varnishes, which may add an extra dimension to certain works.

Ultimately, we aim to create beautiful and detailed work for the talented individuals with whom we work - so that it can be shared with the public to admire and enjoy.
The founder
Alexandré Vosloo is a Johannesburg based Artist and Printmaker.
Having received his diploma in Visual Art, at the University of Johannesburg (FADA), Alexandré went on to work as a professional printmaker for Artist Proof Studio (APS). While running the screen printing department at APS, Alexandré worked with a host of artists, including; Mongezi Ncaphayi, Io Makandal, Norman Catherine and Siwa Mgoboza.
Alexandré also worked on the One Colour at a Time show at the Wits Art Museum, which in 2018 saw him awarded the Ampersand Fellowship in New York City.

In 2019 Alexandré left APS to open Flood House, a screen printing studio. The studio focuses largely on the editioning of fine art silkscreen editions and operates out of the Victoria Yards, Johannesburg.
Before Flood House Alexandré, worked for Artist Proof Studio - a traditional printmaking studio in Newtown, Johannesburg. Here, he honed his skills as a screen-printer, working with prolific artists including Faith 47, Norman Catherine and Mongezi Ncaphayi. After three years with the studio, Alexandré was awarded the Ampersand Fellowship, which saw the printmaker leave for New York for five weeks. It was then that the initial concept of Flood House was born.
